All tariffs are per person, per night. Prices are quoted for settlement in UK Sterling.
Accommodation prices include the option of the renowned ‘Missing Bell’ full breakfast.

Children and Young Adults


    Infants under 5 years old:

    Free accommodation and breakfast if sleeping in parents room.


    Children 5 to 15 years old:

   benefit from a 50% reduction from their entire bill (includes accommodation with breakfast and evening dinners                          
   excluding the Japanese banquet Tokyo Nights and freshly prepared packed lunches) which both have reduction of 20%
 
    Young Adults 16 and 17 years old:

    benefit with a 20% reduction from their entire bill (accommodation with breakfast and evening dinners).
 



Family or Group Bookings:

A twin room or family room configuration can be arranged upon request (depending upon availability). 



Meals:
Full breakfast is included in the above price.
Evening dinner (three to five course meals) prices vary from around £25 to £59* per person, depending on the menu of the day. *Japanese banquet, eight courses.

In addition to the guest welcome pack above, all rooms have fresh fluffy white towels, hair dryer, bedside radio alarm (Ipod connectors). Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are available in all bathrooms and en-suites.

BOOKING POLICIES:

Timings:

Check-in  
Anytime between 3pm and 9pm on the day of arrival (earlier or later by special arrangement).

Check-out
Rooms should be vacated by 10.30 am on the day of departure.

 

Payments:

Deposits
To secure bookings during the summer season, a deposit equal to the cost of the first night is required at the time of booking. 

Regular commercial clients are exempt from deposit payments.

Full Settlement

Must be made upon the morning of departure or the night before in the case of Early morning departures. Settlements may be made in cash or through PayPal (direct or credit card). Please note that settlement of final accounts by PayPal incur a 4% surcharge.  


Payment Methods:

Cash
Payment may be made in £’s Sterling (GBP).

Cheques
Deposit payment can be made by cheque issued by a UK bank account in £’s Sterling (GBP). Please allow seven days in advance for cheque clearance. Please note that cheques cannot be used for final settlements. 

PayPal 
For payment in advance arrangements, invoices can be issued by email including instructions for settlement via PayPal. Payment can then be made by Credit or Debit Card or a PayPal account if you have one. You can use this payment method without having to open a PayPal account. Please note that settlements of final accounts by PayPal incur a 4% surcharge. 

BACS (Bank Transfer)
Can be used for deposits or advance payment of an entire booking. For the latter, BACS transfers should be made seven days in advance and by prior arrangement. BACS payment can be useful when the accommodation is being paid by a third party (for example: making a gift).


Cancellations:

Customer cancellation of bookings made within the period of thirty days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to the following:-

1.   Prepaid deposit monies are non-refundable for cancellations within this period.

 

2.   Curtailment of stay constitutes a cancellation of the remaining booking as is, not arriving without providing any notice. For both situations Eastward Guest House reserves the right to levy fees in the event that the accommodation service cannot be resold at short notice. Such fees will not exceed seventy-five percent of the related value.

 

Cancellation by customers of bookings between the period of sixty and thirty-one days prior to the confirmed arrival date are subject to the following:-

1.   Prepaid deposit monies are refundable but subject to a fee of 10% (of the deposit value) for cancellations within this period.

 

2.   Not arriving without providing any notice, constitutes a cancellation. In this situations Eastward Guest House reserves the right to levy fees in the event that the accommodation service cannot be resold at short notice. Such fees will not exceed seventy-five percent of the related value.


Consumer Advisory:
If you are concerned about the possibility of cancellation, you are advised to have adequate travel insurance. Customers should take into account that air and sea crossings to an island can be delayed by adverse weather conditions or crossings may even be cancelled in the event of severe weather conditions.

If you are flying into Orkney or crossing by sea, it may be prudent to plan an afternoon flight or ferry; in the event of service cancellations it is good to have the potential of the last flight or ferry of the day as a fall-back option (if your travel scheduling allows it).
