To celebrate their friendship, a birthday and love of exquisite cuisine, this foursome group chose the foodie adventure and scintillating flavour trail of a special Izakaya menu with ten servings of meat and seafood.
Table Greetings - Kamu
Traditional steamed duck and freshly made Japanese egg roll.
Freshly hand-made maki-sushi, wrapped in nori and ura-maki sushi rolled in roasted sesame seeds. Featuring Orkney organic salmon with freshly picked shiso and hand dived scallops.
Served with real wasabi, shouyu (soy sauce) and gari (sweet pickled root ginger).

Most people outside of Japan have never experienced the unique and exquisite taste of the difficult to grow Wasabi rhizome. Here is fresh wasabi procured and delivered for the occasion from Shizuoka (South West of Tokyo). Depicted also is the wooden block covered in shark skin used to rub wasabi.

Lightly seared fresh tuna dressed with fried garlic flakes, spring onions and ponzu sauce.
Local hand-dived scallop from Orkney waters together with samphire in a unique Missing Bell recipe.
John Dory (sea bass)
Locally sourced - another dietary management substitution for allergenic avoidance of scallops. We never make lesser quality substitutes.
Served with Missing Bell sesame dressing.
Succulent chicken tempura wrapped in fresh Shiso leaves and served with yuzu pepper.
Shiitake mushroom stuffed with fragrant ground pork, ginger and bamboo shoot.
Aubergine, dressed with freshly made red miso paste, roasted sesame seeds and garnished with homegrown edible viola flowers.
